Are you a non-premium subscriber to LinkedIn and you have you hit your “commercial use limit”? How frustrating?
There are a couple ways you can still search LinkedIn to help you get around this:
1. Use a Google X-Ray search
Using Google to search LinkedIn takes the search off LinkedIn and doesn’t count against your allotted number of searches.
There are several sites that can help you use Google to search LinkedIn. They are referred to as an X-Ray search. Here are a couple sites that I like:
2. Create your own Google search
If you are looking for a recruiter who works at “Coca-Cola”, enter this search string:
site:linkedin.com (inurl:in OR inurl:pub) -inurl:salary -intitle:directory -inurl:dir -inurl:jobs “greater atlanta area” “coca-cola” “recruiter”
Explanation:
- This includes URL’s that include “in” or “pub”, which are typical of LinkedIn personal profiles.
- This excludes URL’s that include “salary”, “directory”, “dir” or “jobs” which are not typical of personal profiles.
- This includes a location, in this case “greater atlanta area”
- This includes the company name, “coca-cola”
- This includes the job title “recruiter”
